Following the success of their uber-luxe A/W 09 collection, we managed to catch up with one half of the renowned design-duo Basso & Brooke backstage at London Fashion Week.
Chris Brooke talks us through the inspiration behind the collection – which included Louis XIV and the elaborate, decadence of French Baroque; as well as explaining the journey of the brand as it becomes more and more accessible each season. The ethos of the label is ‘beauty for it’s own sake’, and the pair are striving to make pieces that people ‘just love’, Brooke explains, as he encourages us to remain optimistic in our outlook, despite the recession.
