Todd Lynn’s collection ‘Genesis Redux’ inspired by reptilian creatures and skins, introduces us to his futuristic and structured collection. Todd’s Spring/Summer offering served up some interesting silhouettes, sharp shoulders, with lots of snakeskin panelling and mirror like strips.

Sticking to a muted colour palette, of camel, sand, grey and black with a dash of metallics, the emphasis at Todd Lynn was all about the cut.  Jackets had sharp shoulders and futuristic cuts, whilst trousers were kept slim and sharp, teamed will killer Louboutin shoe boots. Trousers and jackets were detailed with snakeskin panels and strips, and dresses played with various silhouettes, body con, one shouldered, with emphasis on the shoulders. Men wore shorts that fell just below the knee, paired with shiny black high top trainers.

The models striding down the runway almost resembled animalistic androids from another planet, androgynous with scraped back hair and minimal make-up. Indeed, the collection felt gender ambiguous, but kept things sexy with a couple of super short body con dresses with silver mirror like strips, and the Louboutins were of course gorgeous.

Although perhaps not the most summery of collections, this was Todd Lynn at his best, with a unique and well executed concept. With the importance placed on cut and the introduction of metallics being referenced by Todd and many other designers, Spring/Summer 11 is set to be a futuristic affair.
