Central Saint Martins are known for cutting edge designs and producing a generation of artistic designers. This year’s MA Fashion Course students displayed just what everyone would anticipate. Floor length fringe dresses, tartan oversized t-shirts and colourful shirts and trousers to name a few were part of their collection for autumn/ winter 2011. They have been actively influencing major brands such as DKNY, Gucci, Chanel, Acne, Top Shop, Ungaro, Lanvin, Prada and Louis Vuitton with their inimitable designs. Some have excelled under their own labels such as Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab and Kim Jones to name a few.
Elle’s Fashion Features Director, Rebecca Lowthorpe chose and announced the winners, Phoebe English and Viktor Smedinge. Looks like they are the next big thing and that the camel colour is not going anywhere.
