This was one collection that really blew us away and had the whole office incredibly excited. Holly Fulton is a Newgen designer that is known for her quirky, geometric inspried, graphic prints and accessories, and her S/S 11 collection truly proved that no-one does print like Holly.
Holly described the collection as “Joan Collins on a cruise circa 1967″, and with sweeped back hair, pointed courts and gravity defying earrings, Dynasty it certainly was. The show kicked off with some amazing tribal dresses and loose fit trousers in a giraffe style print, followed by a series of stunning stand out graphic prints in turquoise blues and greens, all providing lots of movement and energy on the catwalk.
The collection then took a softer, more feminine turn, introducing a number of mermaid style dresses, full length and shimmery in pastel pinks and silver. A dreamy cloud like print was then introduced to the runway, paired with the most beautiful dazzling Swarovski jewels in Holly’s signature oversized geometric styles (definitely on our Spring/Summer wish list).
Holly’s collection was feminine and imaginative, avoiding this season’s minimalism trend and once again wowing us with her unique use of print and colour. A thoroughly impressive display, proving British Newgen talent is something to be incredibly proud of.
