We may be in the midst of a recession, and with vat going up next year, a hole will be left in our pay cheques, but the lovely people at Selfridges are offering ten days of special events and discount beauty treatments ensuring we can all look our best this party season, woo hoo.
From Thursday (25th) to Saturday (5th) London’s top department store is giving customers the chance to have personalised makeovers by top make-up artists, skincare consultations, along with special offers on popular brands and the launch of Chanel’s new Riva nail colour from their Spring/Summer 2010 Cruise collection, an icy blue colour that is perfect for Christmas.
The London events I’m most looking forward to are a Bobbi Brown makeover, choosing from a vintage, vixen or Hollywood look, best of all the team take a photo of your look for you to recreate at home (Thurs 25th and Thurs 2nd), the chance to try out Dior’s new Greys collection with a manicure (exclusive to Selfidges on Thurs 2nd), and a talk from Glamour Magazine’s beauty director Alessandra Steingerr who will share her beauty tips, what she keeps in her make up bag and her top ten beauty Christmas gifts (Sun 5th). And on my way out I will be visiting the Benefit counter where if you spend over £30 you get a free gift from Santa, ho ho ho.
