ABOUT BARBARA TAYLOR BRADFORD
Barbara Taylor Bradford OBE was born in Yorkshire, working in the typing pool at the Yorkshire Evening Post before moving to Fleet Street to work as a fashion and lifestyle journalist.
A Woman of Substance was published off the back of a 10 page submission to her publisher, and since then Barbara has gone on to tell over 81 million copies of her 24 novels.
Barbara now lives in New York, and in 1999 was the first living female to be featured on a stamp.
