Polish born artist Eva Kowalewska may be a newbie, but she’s certainly not afraid to say what she thinks.
She warns of the hazards for the artist of having access to such a vast amount of art in one place. ‘Yes, you do get inspiration from looking at other people’s work but it is also dangerous because if you like something a lot you might try, even subconsciously, copying it and that’s not good.’
She also comments on the trends to look out for – influence from fashion being one and fuchsia pink, often considered kitsch before, being the other.
