Over 75 of the world’s best contemporary art galleries will be brought together at The Royal Hospital in Chelsea tonight for Art London. The private view gives London’s art aristocracy the chance to gain a sneak preview of some of the fantastic and accessible work on offer this year. What sets Art London apart is the quality and variety of contemporary and modern art for sale, and the unintimidating atmosphere of the fair itself.
Mayfair’s established Medici gallery is just one of the 75 galleries exhibiting at Art London this year. The gallery has been exhibiting contemporary figurative paintings for 100 years, hosting around 8 shows and exhibitions each year. This year sees award-winning artist Anne Magill bring her solo show to Art London. The former illustrator had turned her hand to more figurative paintings after working as a successful illustrator for campaigns for brands like Nike and Levi’s. Magill’s later figurative paintings have been bought by high profile collectors such as Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe. Her dark skied landscapes and atmospheric portrait studies are the kind of pieces that will completely transform a living space.
