Having already created a cruise line for her mainline label, Alice Temperley has just debuted a new cruise range for her diffusion line, Alice by Temperley.
Inspired by a recent visit to Africa, Temperley said: “I loved the fabrics worn – the large and bold contrasting graphics. The muse for cruise is a traveling hunter,”
As well as her travels abroad, Temperley was also inspired a little closer to home. She adds: “I love animal prints and always have – I especially love the way spines of animals can be mirrored across your body. As I have a printed zebra carpet, I re-photographed it for our T-shirt and knit collection.”
So what prompted Alice’s decision to create a new cruise range specifically for her diffusion line?
“It is the most important of the four seasons as it is on the shop floor for the longest time. For diffusion it is important to keep things refreshed and new and keep your deliveries constant,” says Temperley, adding that “resort is a transitional collection that has to satisfy different needs for different parts of the world including the holiday party season and the winter months here – so it is transitional with a taste of summer.”
