Rebecca Hossack of the Rebecca Hossack Gallery stands beside a selection of work by Alick Tipoti and talks to t5m’s Bella Crane about the Affordable Art Fair.
Having been involved with the fair since it began nine years ago, Rebecca has watched buyers grow with their art and the artists behind each piece of work.
‘People who have come here and bought from us eight or nine years ago, who bought maybe their first picture for three or four hundred pounds are now coming to the gallery and are buying pictures for ten or twelve thousand.’
But it’s not just about money and investment, she has had some moving moments to.
‘One day I sold a painting to a lady and she just burst into tears with happiness because she said it was the first picture she’d ever bought, it meant so much to her.’
