Graduate Web Developer

Background

t5m is an established and rapidly growing media content producer and distributor with a developing technology platform. The company produces and distributes video content online, as well as publishing articles from contributors around the world via www.t5m.com. t5m is based near Oxford Circus in Central London and is made up of a small, young and passionate team.

Role

t5m is looking for an intelligent and talented Graduate Web Developer to join the web team to assist with several online projects. The successful candidate will be passionate about their work, self-motivated, comfortable with working across multiple projects and able to contribute to the company’s development. The duties for the role will include:

  • Maintaining and developing functionality for t5m.com
  • Creating HTML e-mails and assisting with sending newsletters
  • Contributing to maintenance of technical roadmap
  • Assisting with the development t5m’s core projects such as the recommendation engine
  • Working on projects for external clients

Essential:

  • XHTML, CSS
  • PHP, MySQL
  • Javascript (preferably jQuery and AJAX experience)
  • SEO experience
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility
  • Usability concepts
  • Photoshop or Fireworks
  • Experience with Wordpress/Wordpress MU templates
  • Knowledge of accessibility, WAI and W3C standards
  • Educated to degree level

Desirable:

  • Apache configuration
  • Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash/AS3
  • Paypal integration
  • Experience leveraging web APIs
  • Web design, wireframing
  • Experience working with XML feeds, RSS, MRSS, sitemaps
  • IT support skills

Hours: 9am – 6pm

Location: Princes Street, London, W1B 2LE

Salary: £75 per day

Junior Web Designer

Background

t5m is an established and rapidly growing media content producer and distributor with a developing technology platform. The company produces and distributes video content online, as well as publishing articles from contributors around the world via www.t5m.com. t5m is based near Oxford Circus in Central London and is made up of a small, young and passionate team.

Role

The successful candidate will be working alongside our Web Developer, primarily focused on the creation of a new video distribution portal. They will also assist in the ongoing development of t5m.com, as well as creating graphics for use across several other projects. They will be keen to develop their skills and able to deliver high quality work in a variety of formats. Knowledge of HTML, CSS & Photoshop is essential. Experience with PHP, Flash, Wordpress and JavaScript would also be beneficial. Candidates must be self-motivated and work well in teams with a passion for the industry and keen communication skills, both written and verbal. Examples of previous work is essential.
Skills

  • Strong familiarity with web design and relevant working constraints.
  • Creativity and originality in graphic and web design.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt as required.
  • Essential: Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS.
  • Useful: Flash Animation, Actionscript, Macromedia Dreamweaver, PHP, Wordpress, JavaScript, jQuery, SEO techniques

Responsibilities:

  • Creating site templates for new areas of t5m.com (e.g. http://www.t5m.com/for-your-consideration/)
  • Designing the layout of new features to be implemented on t5m.com
  • Designing new site layouts for upcoming projects
  • Contributing to the company through providing creative input to all aspects of the business

Hours: 9am – 6pm

Location: Princes Street, London, W1B 2LE

Salary: £50-75 per day dependant on experience
